cp3? hard start? white smoke?

2002 gmc that wont start with out a little WD. idles rough with white smoke all the way through the rpms loaded and not. rebuilt the filter housing and now it flows a solid stream of fuel without any air bubbles. but no fuel in the oil.
Has anyone ever heard of a injection pump going out? if so what are some things to check to tell? would a pressured lift pump help? are the injectors bad?
could it be low compression?

white smoke and bad idle and rough running sounds like Injectors to me, Get the balance rates checked out

+-4mm3 in park idling and +-6mm3 in gear idling are within spec, anything higher or lower are bad injectors
