Oil leak at injection pump 3406b

My pump is leaking oil and an oval cover towards the front on the pump but it's located on the inside part of the pump between the block. It also has one on the opposite side of the pump. Can I just remove it and clean it and put silicone or go buy the gasket? Does this cover hold anything inside? Looks kinda tight but I think I can remove it. Thanks for the help

They are orings, not gaskets. They've gotten hard, brittle and square. Get new ones from Cat. The back one can be changed.....but its tricky. Just covers....no flying parts.

You'll have to pull the compressor.....then you can get right to it.

Are you sure its the inspection cover on the back? There is an Allen plug on the back, in the oil rail that is bad to loosen and seep oil. May be it, too......
