o4 6.0 no power help

No codes checked fuel pressure at secondary filter 60 psi.Removed turbo cleaned vanes ring was frozen solid.Put turbo back on and did the relearn.at idle you here turbo vanes cycling. Not making any boost under load.MGP doesn't gain when you drive or test turbo.with modis, you force range from 0 to 85% you here turbo vanes and the turbo load down.IPR pressure spikes to 2500 than back to 2100 at wide open no load engine will not go above 3900.Map reads 14 off and 16 while running the most it will get is 19 psi atWOT.What other readings from what sensors should i be looking at and what should they be thanks

Check your voltage to your FICM and check your ICP sensor as well, do you have a scanguage II? Do you have alot of white smoke coming out, is it blueish greyish?

no smoke,my ficm voltage 48 volts, icp sensor is reading what ipr desired is supposed to be.The engine is really flat you don;t hear it spool even when you power brake and watch engine load it only goes to 63%

no leaks at air to air you don,t even hear the turbo whistle. From doing a search the icp should be 4000? i'm not even close it spikes about 2500 psi but mostly hits 2200 at WOT

Icp should hit 4000psi instantly when pounding the go pedal. Possible ipr or icp issues, or high pressure oil leaks, wire chaffing or bad harness connections. Also, if the turbo unison ring was frozen, then turbo housing could be worn too like mine was. I cleaned mine only to have it malfunction again a few days later. I'm sure you checked the obvious, like the exhaust for restrictions and the air filter too. If it still has a cat-conv thats a possibility. What is your icp at idle? Another thing is the maf sensor. If it's an early 04' it may have the inferred ebp sensor flash O6E17. Which then uses the maf sensor for boost and fuel calculations. I had the connector on my maf sensor go bad, wasn't getting the correct signals through from the maf, ford makes a harness mod kit for the maf that comes with a new connector and harness to extend the old one at the maf sensor. Early 04' models still have the icp sensor under the back of the turbo on the hpop housing. Late 04' the icp sensor will be on the passenger side valve cover. If its still using the ebp signal, like a later model would be, then maybe try cleaning out the ebp sensor and plumbing. If your oil pressure is being bleed off either through the ipr valve itself or from hpo leaks, then you will never get enough fuel delivery and exhaust gasses to operate the turbo. Tough to diag something like this without being there, but hopefully it's a simple fix, if there is such a thing. Good luck and keep us posted, never can learn enough about these motors.

icp is 660 or 680 at idle, cleaned EPB tube and changed the sensor.unison ring was seized, the truck was sitting fo awhile.Company just bought it.I'm using ht snapon modis with most recent updates to scan and read real time data,i did notice it has a extended crank not long maybe 3 to 5 sec before it pops off.hope this helps

after sitting all night it had a long exdended crank. While cranking ICP was 1050PSI and ipr was 35%.after it started and idleing icp is 668psi and ipr is 26% when you hammer the pedal you get 2400 psi.IPR goes to 50%

Don't know Ace, make sure those ficm voltages are not fluctuating like Smokecloud mentioned. They can read fine one moment and drop the next from 48 to 36 or even 24, and cause weird symptoms. Your icp seems fine during cranking and idle. Your low icp's at higher rpms may just be a symptom of not having the capability to produce upper power levels. Could still be a turbo issue or stuck egr valve.

i checked EGR not stuck open.Turbo vanes look fine, you can hear the vanes change during idle.Could the ipr not allow the correct pressure even though its ok at idle.Correct me if i'm wrong you need fuel to create boost. So with out seeing 4000 PSI you won't see the fuel inorder to create the boost?Should i i just change the IPR.What does the ECM do firstsupply thefull fuel through the IPR signal than back off the oil pressure when at full boost. To get the right fuel/ratio.Or is it gradual and increase evenly until maxed out.
