Thumbs up MBE 926 more power?

I have an 06 M2 with the MBE 926 and an Allison.I was looking for some info on getting more from this little motor.I have already put a 5 inch exhaust and muffler on.Do any of you guys have anyother tricks or know what else can be done .This engine is listed at 330 hp.It runs well ,just doesnt seem to have enough or what it should.Thanks in advance.

Probably wont see any back yard/ low buck mods on it. If you have the down time available try a factory re-rate, or extrude honed injectors. Possibly look on European truck websites to see what they do with them.

I'd be careful with anything you do. Last time I visited the local Sterling dealer, they had a quite a few waiting for drop in engines that had grenaded.

That is a very good lttle engine and it is tough as can be but if it is set up which i don think it can be then it may not be a good engine any more. The turbo is i think the first thing that would blow.

Question

Thanks for the imput.I like the little engine and was looking for the little tricks that may be lurking around that might help it.I have seen some take out engines at the freightliner shops but those seem to have been the twin turbo units in the 08 model range.Mine has the 04 emissions.I had thought about blocking off the EGR from the exhaust side to reduce the thermal load on the cooling system. since there seems to be no sensors on the system itself , maybe no SES light would be set. The exhaust is very clean on this truck with very little soot out of the stack.The engine temp does seem to fluctuate quite a bit . from 170 to 210, maybe some different stats to help keep temps at a more steady state around 180 ? What are some of the Euro sites that discuss these engines?I see alot of these engines in the M2s ,Spotchassis and RV haulers, it would seem more people would be tinkering with them?

There is an egr temp sensor, and egr valve performance is monitored.

Interesting that the diagram shows there is a sensor in the EGR at the intake , buuuut I do not see any wiring going to the intake at the top of the engine? So it seems it only checks EGR temp and solenoid operation? these would seem to vague values and leave alot of room for the ECM to interperate? So as long as the coolant lines from the engine are still flowing engine coolant, the ECM may not throw a code? If not would it possibly be a soft code or a hard code?
