how to check for a bad injector?

is there any way to check for a bad injector with it still in the engine? when i scan the truck for codes the scanner locks up. the truck has stage 2s in it but the thing just doesn't idle right or run all that good! thanks for the help!

There is the KOEO injector (buzz) test and the KOER cylinder contribution test, of those, neither identify WHAT is wrong specifically but give you information about the wiring from the PCM to the injectors (buzz test) and the relative contribution of each cylinder relative to all the others (cylinder contribution). Low cylinder performance can come from any number of causes, just like every other engine.

Yep, but you have to have the correct scanner. Or you can unhook each one of them and start the truck to see if there's a change. If you find that it idles the same when you have an injector unplugged, then you have an idea that one's the culprit.

You only know which CYLINDER is underperforming, you know nothing at all about the injector, wiring, ICP, fuel pressure, compression etc.

OK i will try unplugging the injectors to see what happens. i just replaced the valve cover gaskets,wiring harness. i have a fass pump so i wouldn't think its fuel press. hay thanks for the info!

I have a laser thermomiter picked it up at the home depot 30 buck start your truck and point it at you exauhst manifold on each cylinder and it will tell you what one is not contri9buting running bad ect..
