DT 466 E stalls when it reaches operating temp

here is my problem , Year 1999 Model 4700 Internationl Engine DT 466 E .

when the engine reaches operating temp.( dash reads 197-198 degrees ) the engine will start to stall out slowly white smoke out stack.Leave truck stand and cool for 2-5 min. truck starts right up.Here is what i have checked new cam sensor,injectors sent in and checked ,new seal washers injector tips copper verses stainless,checked fuel pressure of supply pump fuel 65 psi cold 45 psi warm,run truck on remote fuel bottle check for air very very small bubbles on return fuel ,possible pressure return int to bottle the cause. With no luck ,run codes ,none preset, I can set my watch with the it happens.Standing still run engine to temp. 195-198 degrees . wait 3-5 minute truck will shut right down. Sent truck to shop ,they said cam moving back and fourth 50 thousands , shimmed it out and its fixed, ya right, they can't seam to find problem . ANY HELP !!! catwrench

Might still be the cam sensor?? I had to put a second one in our DT466E before I could get it to run after warming up..

hmm, i would run a snapshot when it stalls and see what happens to icp when it stalls

Yes have tried new cam sensor ,same thing. ICP snapshot i don't have tooling ,but deal told me to diconnect ICP when it stalls and see if it runs ok then, no different . Thanks catwrench

I'm not familiar with the 466E at all, but if it has a shutdown solenoid, check that.

Verify the temp with a heat gun. Make sure it's still not climbing in your three to five minutes. If the fan kicks on, the gauge is wrong, hence you may have a heat shut-down, and the lack of logged codes could point to a head gasket and sendor reading air instead of coolant. Heat gun it at the sendor and compaire it to the gauge, bottle test it at the overflow hose, if both show negative try to swap ECM's with another truck to duplicate condition, then check back
