Extrude Hone DT466 injectors?

called hypermax the other day, seems as though they are the only company that will do performance work on DT466E injectors. They said while they dont have performance injectors for an "E" model, they would extrude hone them for me for a price.

Does this seem even remotely worth the effort? Will there be any noticeable gain at all?

motor is a E model 190ht model in 96 4900

Extrude honing is, unfortunately, one of few things you can do to a 466E. The guy at DIYinjectors can also do that, plus with his injector body mods, it would be a good bit more flow. At 190hp, a little is gonna wake it up decently. That and a custom computer program from those guys that do the Cat engines......PDI, or someone like that. Plus, if you go real big, you may be needing another turbo.

If the computer does throw a code, I can always use an ecm from lets say a 230hp truck to cover for it right?

Yep. John said they arent programmed to throw an overboost code, so have at it. Then change the ECM to a 330hp 530E if the injectors didnt do enuf. The turbo may not be able to handle too much. Some low power engines used a Garrett GT37, where the others had a GT40.

You'll need a front-to-rear CAC, HT530 injectors and a HT530 HPOP if you want to get that kind of power. AND, expect to melt the pistons, HT DTs over 300 HP use steel pistons for a reason

well, im not even lookin to break 300hp at all. id be totally impressed with 275hp. really Id be happy with about 600lb ft of torque also, that is what is really needed.

my motor is already a high torque model, I thought all ht motors were built with steel top pistons. mine is a 190hp per valve cover sticker.

and I was thinkin of removing the small cac for a larger one anyway...basically I need a recipe for a high torque 275hp power. and I would like to do it without big oil if possible, thru injectors, turbo, computer/tuning to keep costs lower.

Man, the electronic 190's are a tough puzzle to solve. If you had a mech, you could be at ~220 with a screwdriver and a 8 mm socket. 250+ with a pump turbo & injectors and still have a "factory" motor.

I want more, too. I started at 210/570. 300/800 would be just right for my truck/trans/gearing/typical load . I think I'm at ~265/750 right now and it runs great with no EGT issues.

The search for easy power never ends....I think my answer is on the back of the pump.
