Boost seems low after EGR Delete

I have an 06' F-250, I just did a River City Diesel EGR Delete along with a rebuilt 03' turbo. The truck runs great but the boost seems down a little. I used to pull right at 30psi WOT and now it's max is 22-23psi. I have never chipped this truck and is all stock. I also noticed that it has zero smoke when you get on it. I used to see a little smoke if I got on it from around 30mph. Not that his is a bad thing but I was wondering if anybody has noticed the same thing after an EGR delete. The boost just seems to flatten out at half throttle, anything past half throttle and it just wont build anymore pressure, but the power still increases.

Thanks, Brad

I would start looking into that turbo. I did the same EGR delet about a month ago. Mine runs great.

I dont think its the turbo because it spools up really fast and has an absolutely awesome whistle. Even when i shut the truck off you can hear the turbo spin down for about 7-10 seconds. It sounds like a cop siren off in the distance. lol

you possibly have a drive pressure leak or cold side leak.check the up pipes and bellows on the y and all the boots first.

I was kinda wondering about that, Is there any certain way to check for leaks other than visual inspection?

is your egr valve unplugged? I think with stock tuning and the egr unplugged, it may be reverting to different fueling and boost tables? I may be wrong though... mine has always been tuned...

You don't have a problem. That is normal for boost to be much lower without the EGR system. My boost numbers exactly match yours.

it is normal to see less boost with an EGR delete kit vs stock

I don't know the physics behind it, but it is normal and expected. Before I deleted my whole egr system, I could unplug my egr valve and boost WOT to 22-23 instead of 29-30. I lost 7# on average. Very repeatable.

I'm not sure if it's physics, programming, boost tables, etc. Hopefully someone can answer the question better.
