The administrators of this site have graciously opened a section for the members to get information from the factory about their vehicles. In the past, this has been very beneficial to people especially when looking to purchase a truck. Here are some facts about the information you will get:

1) This info is direct from the factory, this is not a carfax type of site that gives very general information. We will post exactly what we see when we use the vin you supply and that will consist of a summary and a build sheet. If there is other pertinant info such as warranty blocks or title brands, that will be posted as well.

2) The information is available for all GM brands including GMC, Saturn, Oldsmobile, Buick, Pontiac, Cadillac, Hummer and of course Chevrolet. As of this posting, GM is NOT keeping history for vehicles OLDER than 1994.

3) All 17 digits in the VIN are REQUIRED. "O" and "Q" are not used in VIN's, if you see an 0, its a zero.

4) You can request as many as you need. Please start a new thread for each request, it makes it easier to follow and read.

5) Basic maintenance is not tracked by GM, it is tracked at the dealer level only, so you will NOT see when the last owner did an oil change.

6) Please allow a few days for an answer, usually it will take only a day or less to provide the information, however sometimes there are delays.

7) Dont be afraid to ask questions if you see something that you dont understand, there will be alot of codes that you wont recognize, but they usually have a brief description afterwards.
