That's a $9K difference on this particular truck.

I wonder what Ford and Dodge are going to do this week? Looks like I chose a good time to replace the g/f's truck.

Heck, you still want the Passat Wideopen?

I haven't bothered to look since I've never shopped for a Chebby. My guess is there is $4-5K between invoice and sticker price on a truck like this. Lets say its $5K then this $9K off would be the same as having a $4K rebate on this truck.

The difference is there isn't any haggling for the general public that walks onto the lot and has to begin ****ering off sticker and may never even get close to the invoice if they didn't do their homework.

When you go through the internet guy at a dealer you begin ****ering around invoice depending on where he starts and the particular vehicle.

I've been talking to a local Dodge internet guy for the last month and I just shot him an email to keep me abreast of what Dodge does now that GM dropped its pants.

I wanted to go Cummins this go around but I'll put a D'max in the driveway if the money is right and don't think I won't ask for the 3% holdback either.

Ford was doing the same thing, depending on dealer around here when I bought mine... They would ask and offer it to you... They also bought a discount from me... (the numbers) .. and gave it to someone else... dunno how they did that, but Im not complaining.....

But this is a sweet deal if you want a chevy...!!!!! But not available on the vette...

It does kill resale, and trade in!

True.

They always have incentives on the HD's and that's why I never considered one before.

X-plan pin numbers? There are a few dealers around here that if they know you they will get you an x-plan number. Typically they pay the Ford employee $50 for them and one dealer has been busted before though it's still doing it to this day.

At this point in the down slide I don't think mother Ford really cares and apparently GM wants get dirtier.

I'm really interested in what Ford and Dodge do. Assuming you can get the same discount dollar wise the smart money would be to buy a Ford or Dodge because they can be trusted to pull the incentives once the market turns around keeping their re-sale higher.

Consistent $4K incentives or 0% on a model kills resale regardless of what it is.
