2011 won't idle up in the cold

Hey Guys, my new 2011 F350 starts up in the morning goes to fast idle for about 15 min and that then that is it. The thing slows back down to normal idle speed and stays there for the day. Engine temp is ice cold and won't warm up. Anyone else have an issue like this? -33C outside temp and the rad covered over.

the primary factor for the fast idle has been the oil temp although other thing play into it as well. once it decides its not frozen solid it slows down. i think the boys have figured out how to jimmy it to have a fast idle whenever you want it. since i am still in 6.0 country i havent looked at the details myself.

From what I have read it is as simple as installing a resistor. I am planning on added it when it gets a little warmer.

I tried to connect my pto idle to my #4 upfitter switch, like I had it on my 08 but no sucess. I even went off the ford upfit wiring diagram.

Current trucks.
2011 f350 dually, cab/chassis, 4x4, std cab, 84" cab to axle.
2011 f550 4x4 crew 84" cab to axle. Ranchand in front, tailroll in back, winch in the middle.
2011 f350 swr short crew lariet.
2008 dodge 5500 4x4.
2012 dodge dually crew.

i heard you need a reho stat or risister installed to make it work on the 11's like you could do to the 03-10's

i have it wired, it works.
cant remember the diagram. think my resistor is a 22k and makes for 1200 rpm.
ill find the link for it in a second

i wired mine with a 20k ohm resistor to get 1200 rpm

on the chevy's there is a way to turn on and off the fast idle feature in the DIC (computer)... I'm sure the Ford has the same deal with that fancy color computer... check your menus.

Here are the resistor options. FWIW my local Ford Diesel Tech recommends 1200 RPM under no load. So that would be a 20K resistor. I used a .5 Watt Resistor in my testing.
