Yes that is true what ever you do keep good records because if you have a fuel related problem it's on you warranty is out the window. I know ricatic and most do on the PSD forums he has helped me on my 6.0 and his truck cost him and his insurance co. $10,500 this is coming up more and more the Bosch pumps are the problem. Here is some good reading they are long but worth it if you have a 6.7 good luck with yours.

I have a friend that I always considered to be a bit paranoid he has a 2 gallon Jug and every time he fuels up he puts in 1 gallon, at the beginning of his fueling and 1 at the end of his fueling. He has a big number on his jugs and shows it to the Camera at the fueling station. The jugs are yellow, and he looks in later to see if their is any contamination. He has a rack they sit in at an angle he shines a light threw the bottom looking into the fill hole. He uses this fuel in his farm equipment.
Maybe he was just ahead of the crowd.
I have friends and customers that have the new 6.7's I will get them to call Ford and ask about this.

Garage
Here is my take after reading, well skimming the FTE.com thread.

Is it a major issue with the 6.7LPSD? NOPE! and here is why ( IMHO) if it would have went to a dealer with good diesel experience that thread might have made 3 pages. Threads like that are IMO a Mods worst nightmare. Is the 6.7L PSD a good motor? I would say so. Guys remember this, they all have there day to shine, they all have there bad days. I paid out the for a VP44 to be replaced on a 01 24V Cummins... ( but I knew that was a risk with a truck with 145,000 miles.) I put a CP3 injection pump on my truck I have now because I know you pay to play. Should it have cost this owner ( I don't know the outcome as I didnt read till the end) NOPE.

Let me ask you this?

How many 6.7L PSDs, 6.7L CTDs and 6.6L LML Dmaxs out there one the road? 1000s. Any of them would be a fine choice. They all have their issues, they all have the strong suits. Don't gauge your opinions on one truck. There are trouble free 6.0L PSD out there. If it were a major issue it would be much more known than this. While I am a Dodge/Cummins guy I still like all diesels, and don't want to see any owner left out in the cold.

I have been thinking about installing a Davco 232 fuel filter on my LMM and after seeing the problems Ford is having it is a definite I will do it now. I have the new TP3012 filter on it now but more is better.

Thanks for the replies! This was not due to fuel quality issues,it was due to like timing or fuel mapping issues, almost like detination in a gas engine from what they are telling me. However I feel strong about this engine and have seen and heard great feedback from owners,it would not prevent me from owning one thats for sure.

That was a 6.4 wasnt it? If so I have heard plenty of horror stories on them with glow plug tips or fueling issue. I know they are common rail HP fuel system and im not a stranger to that work with it daily. Not sure how you got caught in that trap of paying for that engine, and im sure it upsets you,but I would sure think someone would have had enough pull to get you an engine with those kind of miles. Plenty of trucks around here that had glow plug issues, fueling issues, several even with a tick over a 100k that got a free engine. Was it stock,no delete, program, intake?
