Angry Any other Sync/Nav owners feel like Ford is ignoring them?

Just got the winter 2012 My Ford mag and read with disgust the article about Ford sending out a free update to the 'MyFord Touch' owners!

Damnit Ford, some of us are driving $60k trucks with Sync/Nav systems that have never been upgraded. My Nav system has 2010 software in it and the maps are really becoming dated!

Then to add insult to injury, Sirius Radio just raped me to the tune of $230 for a year package! Are Ford and Sirius in bed with each other??

Okay, RANT over, don't feel a bit better, just ignored by Ford.

How about it @FordCustomerService, any comments??

jammer

I actually sent an email to Ford Customer Service, any bets on if or what they reply??

Why $230? Sirius gave us a 1.5 for free. We just recently bought a 2010 Taurus SHO so is this update excluding us?

dunno. i haven't had much trouble with my nav / maps yet, but...

i also saw the sidebar about the 'Sync Apps'; you can download a Pandora app? THAT's something that i'm interested in! but, to your point, i doubt that is something that i'll be able to upgrade to, right?

My truck was already a year old when I bought it. I got an end of year deal, however it was built in October 2010 and I bought her in November of 2011. I wonder what revision of maps I have compared to the ones coming off the assembly lline now. I hope I got the latest one, but I don't know how to find out.
Yup, I think Ford owes us!

I exchanged emails with Ford a couple of weeks ago. They are working on an update but could not tell me when it would be out

Ford uses the Navteq system for maps. According to their website (www.navigation.com), a new update was released today (04-12-12) and costs $199.00 through their website . You can check the website for additional information and it will explain how to determine if your system is up to date.

Ford like any other American Auto Manufacturer is only interested in taking your money and building a facade when it comes to customer satisfaction. They will inondate you with surveys but will not offer one stich of assistance. The engineers right out of school are building rocket ships that get entirely over complicated because of Computer design software. Their is absolutely no common sense or knowledge level when it comes to practical application or maintenance. Just a bunch of Indian MBA's running the show now that would be better at telling you how to train your Camel then designing your Truck.

Had a conversation with the regional Customer Service Rep a couple of days ago. While certainly sounding like a nice guy, nothing other than "keep checking your 'my ford sync' page for updates" was offered. I got the 'ford cares' speech, but that's all.

I don't know how many of you see the 'bugginess' in these systems but the lack of SoftWare support is abysmal.

just sayin'
