4.30 vs 3.73

Hi! i'm on the market for a new truck, i went on my dealer to order a f-350 DRW king rang and they have exactly what i want in stock except it is a f-450, so i'm asking you guys : is there big fuel economy difference between f-350 (3,73 diff ) and f-450 (4.30 diff) both wmpty and towing. truck will be use 35000km a year, will be use to tow my 20k pounds 44' horse trailer (about 4-5000km a year) other thant that it will be use as a daily driver. what do you think i should do? wait 6-8 week for a 350 or go with in stock f-450 ) forgot to ask, what kind of fuel milege can i expect? this will replace a 2007 350 drw king ranch 6,0 psd., by the way the f-450 i'm looking at now is fully equip window sticker is +/- 87500$ and with all the discount total is 66500$ canadian+ sale taxe HAHA so lucky to live in quebec

I don't think you would be happy with the 3.73 gears when loaded. Also don't think you would be really satisified with the 4.30 gears when empty. 4.10 would be a better choice or the best of both worlds is to install a gear vendors o/d auxilliary transmission and go with the 4.30. I have a 4.56 in a Dodge with the auxiliary trans and it is a good driveline combination with a little more weight when loaded than you specifiy. Really don't drive the truck much empty any longer but it works well.

That's a hell of a lot more money than I could afford for a light duty pickup; but that's just me.
