The 6.7L is a 3 way deal?

Heard today that the 6.7L has more hands in it than I thought. Supposedly cummins, and either BMW or Benz had something to do with it too. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this.

I doubt it, but if any of them had anything to do with it i would think id be benz. Someone got the 6.7 Cummins confused with the Scorpion.

Not confused, they said cummins was helping with some of the design. idk, doesn't sound right to me but...it would be nice if ford had a little of the brains from the cummins guys helping them on this engine.

hmm, odd. Wouldnt make much sense though if dodge is doing worse right now than ford, and their helping with the motor?

I can see cummins helping out. Ford has a 15% stake in the company

I hope you're joking around with that statement about Ford owning any part of Cummins.

I don't understand why people attribute all diesel knowledge is retained by cummins. What was wrong with the IH brains on this and past from what you are implying? If you think your cummins was so cummins, then you might want to rethink that, because IH has done the machining an thousands of their heads for cummins to cummins specs.
You may not be ripping on IH, but you may be in a suttle way. IH has built many great diesels and if you would like I can list all of them for you.

I hae nothing against IH with their larger engines but lets face it, who in their right mind would build a smaller ci engine that running more boost and more power and use less head bolts? Thats what they did going from the 7.3 to the 6.0L. I loved my 7.3L but I've had nothing but problems from the 6.0 Every engine has it's strong points and weak pionts and every manufacturer makes great engines and crappy ones. I'm just leaning to the cummins seeing how my truck will have a 12v in it within the year.
