6.7L Downpipe Picture

We were talking about whether or not this was going to be restrictive? What do you guys think?

Absolutely not.
You compared this to the old 7.3 PSD from the mid 90's, and it isn't even close to that old design. No crimps and no sharp corners. Should flow perfect.

Nothing to worry about. I bet that they could have fit a regular bend in there, but opted to have a little extra clearance. That piece could change with a body change down the road as well. Chris

I'm a little more country than that...

I think not. The flare of the pipe will help with the crimp that was made for clearance. Should flow the same volume as a mandrel bent pipe.

Side bar: Is that an oil filter that I see to the right of the flex plate? Did Ford go away from the oil filter on top of the engine? If so that sucks!!!!!!!!

after seeing the setup in person and to be quite honest... i think it's better... u can get two men and a baby around that filter it is out in the open and it's straight up and down... while its draining just unscrew and screw a new one on.... simple. no taking gaskets off and putting new ones on and dripping oil across the front of your truck and those filters are like half the price!

plus, remember ford didn't make the 6.0 and 6.4, that wasn't their design...

Is that pipe (the round part) 3", 3.5" or 4"? Hard to tell. I agree with those above that the way the bend is done, it is NOT restrictive. But that assumes that the pipe itself is of a large enough diameter. I am sure it is fine for the lower flow stock DPF/DEF exhaust setup, but rip all that stuff off and add a tuner, and if it is only 3 or 3.5, it may not be enough. It looks fine though, just wondering about the size.

It is at least 4" i saw it in person and it was considerably bigger than my stock down pipe

How close is the exhaust pipe to the oil filter? Is there going to be a heat issue?
