Sat in a 2011 6.7l power stroke f-350 in person today!

Today is my Birthday and I just got to see a 6.7L DIESEL in person... what a great present!

CHANGES THAT I NOTICED:
  • 4+" Downpipe
  • Only 2 leaf springs on F350 plus straight base spring and overload (4 TOTAL)
  • Adjustable pedal switch on steering wheel column
  • Instrument Cluster Dimmer Switch is now digital and not a wheel
  • No Horizontal Frame Mounted Fuel Filter
  • VERY SOFT SEATS
  • 4x4 Shift Knob pulled out for the Locker Mode, and it would pull out in all 3 positions..
  • 4 12v outlets and one 110v outlet in back

A couple things worth mentioning...

This must of been the truck in most of the pictures. It didn't say Diesel Fuel Only on the dash and no turbo boost gauge just the oil temp light and the tach went to 7,000 RPM with no redline. I'm assuming it is just a pre-production truck with a gas cluster on it. The adjustable pedals are on a round rocker switch on the steering wheel column near the windshield wiper arm switch. The dimmer switch for the dash is now a up down digital button. The sun visors telescope up to 4 inches. The downpipe is GIGANTIC at least 1/2 inch to 1 inch larger in diameter than my 6.0's... There is no horizontal fuel filter. But there is a filter assembly out in the open by itself that is upside down, almost like a cap that just unscrews straight down and then straight back up. I'm sure it is the fuel filter and it also has a drain and a sensor going into it. If it is the fuel filter it will take about 2 seconds to change. It also had a factory spray in liner. I looked for power ratings and a price but neither was present.

By the way, the truck looks 100x better in person than in the pics. The headlights are absolutely perfect in person. Very very high fit and finish quality... higher than any year to date super duty. The center console ties into the dash perfectly also, and in a way that you can't tell in the online pics. I always thought it looked like an after thought but it actually contours nicely. The seats are like a premium leather couch and the head rests come into the back of your head like an angel is craddling your neck. It is a fantastic package. I'm very impressed! What was cool is in the actual tranny case it says TorqShift 6 Speed in big print. The oil filter is like one of the easiest to get to oil filter i've ever seen. The oil drain is also a great design on the oil pan. (I actually crawled under the truck) Funny thing, I opened the fuel filler door and my wife says "oh is that blue cap where the Urea goes?" I just looked at her and smiled...

Take it easy guys.

Great photos, loving this truck more and more everyday. Gonna be hard to give up the 6.4 tho. Would love to go with a F450 HD next but it will be at least a year before the HD package comes out and I dont really like the new rear fenders on the 450.

Is the new 6.7 twin or single turbo?

Great post and pictures. I am loving this truck more and more too. That underhood shot is very telling, looks like you can even see the ground from the topside! I am going to give Ford a year or two to get the bugs out and then order a F250 crew cab LB 4x4 with a 6.7. What is up with every manufactures facination with power adjustible pedals? I have had this feature on my last 4 rides and have never used it. I am on the taller side at 6'3" so maybe it is not for me but I still dont get it. It looks kind of expensive to be adding to vehicles. Am I the exception? Is everyone else out there running these pedals up and down all the time. My wife is 5'4" and she doesnt use it either (its in her car too)

Again, great pictures. What is the joystick on the steering wheel for? Controlling the Radio/Nav I guess? How about that January 2009 date on that sticker, do you think this truck was assembled that long ago? If so they sure did a good job of keeping it from the public until the launch in TX

Yes that truck was definitely at least 8-9 months old...

The joystick looking control on the steering wheel is to control the 4.2" LCD screen between the tach and the speedometer.

That thing that I think is the fuel filter may actually be something to do with the DEF...
