Engines

What I would like to know for those of us use both diesel and 'gasoline' engines, is
What is happening to the proven, reliable V-10?
First I heard it would no longer be available, then I read somewhere it would only be available in 450/550 applications, and finally only to commercial buyers such as Excel energy,DOT's etc.

Finally if it is gone, will FORD eventually offer a higher HP/TQ engine than the new 6.2?
Maybe Randy could shed some light on this.................

right!!
I've read all kinds of reports from 370 - 500+HP.
I've yet to see an actual report from FORD.
What about torque? How much and at what rpm?
Just because a 500 HP engine was made for a special race RAPTOR means nothing when it comes to what going to be available for the SUPER DUTIES, right?

Official power ratings are out on the 6.2L in the F150 raptor.

Not sure what the power ratings will be in the Super Duty but I imagine it will be VERY similar to the same engine in an F150...

If the 320-horsepower, 5.4-liter V-8 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor isn't enough to get your Baja mojo running, Ford has announced the official power ratings for the upcoming 6.2-liter V-8 version: 411 hp and 434 lbs.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful half-ton pickup.
http://special-reports.pickuptrucks....announced.html

23 less lb-ft of torque, but 49 more HP. & on regular fuel...
