Practical lift and tire / wheel combo

I just ordered a Black King Ranch. Crew Cab abd 8ft box. Im going to scrap the OEM wheels and tires and look for a new set-up. I need the truck to remain practial and not to hi that I need a ladder to get in. What is too high? what is the best combo to keep rideability, dependability, and overall a real sweet look
Thanks for your help...

4-8 inches of lift and 38-42 inch tires have always looked best to me. O yeah, no bigger than 20 inch wheels.

There are different types of leveling kits. There are kits that use spring spacers and kits that use new coil springs. Some come with new longer shocks and track bar adjustments. They are pretty much the same as a small lift kit. Look at some of the site sponsors websites and you'll see the different types. Icon makes a nice kit, so does Daystar.
