this is far from over

Sounds like the Duramax is "maxed" out... but Ford has some room to grow their power ratings...

This is the biggest battle I've seen between the two companies in a long time...

Still wish Chevy would get a real crew cab! Even my wife mentioned about how tight it was with the baby in the back and how her knees touched the seat (she's 5'11 1/2") and the seat wasn't even close to all the way back... with my Super Duty it can be all the way back and she has 3 inches between her knees and seat..

Sounds like baiting from GM saying that they're "streaching it thin" waiting for Ford to bump above 400 so GM can trump with something like 420... the DMAX is far from being streached

We all know its good for 1200hp etc etc but being able to have more power and being within emission standards is a whole different animal.. .so in the respect of being stretched out on power within the emission guidelines... i would believe that 765ft-lbs with the strictest emission standards the diesel world has ever seen IS PROBABLY pretty close to the truth.... The Ford has advantages by design over the Duramax... displacement, turbo, and the reverse exhaust being three of them.

it should be interesting, at least Ford did lots of R & D on this motor and the Chassis has already been proven.... I wonder how much R&D chevy did? if they didn't do their homework they may be in trouble when they max out their "redesigned" motor and new chassis....... only time will tell

It takes quite awhile to get the engine certified, so I would imagine you may have to wait awhile before Ford can change the numbers. Gm has a 100,000 mile power train warranty, what is Fords?

I'm sure this is just to lure Ford in, but hopefully they stay away until next year.
