DEF Specs

5.0 Gal Tank (Plastic)

1. Ford material spec: WSS-M99C130-A.
2. Heated urea delivery module (urea freezes at 12F.
3. Urea solution: 32% ammonia (NH3) solution in water.
4. Tanks can be filled using either bottles or nozzle.
5. Fluid is corrosive.
6. Fluid is non flammable.
7. Supply lines area heated and are wheelbase dependent for wide frames (x5), and cab length dependent on narrow frames (x3). Lines are formed, however somewhat flexible.
8. Vehicle operation will degrade as urea levels reach extremely low levels since this is an emission-regulated component. Vehicle speed will be gradually lowered to zero if operator takes no action to refill the tank.

What is that? I thought it was 32% urea (not ammonia). They are not the same thing.

mine: 1986 F250 6.9 idi

dads: 2001 F250 platinum edition 7.3 powerstroke

also 1966 MACK B53.in the process of restoring.

It is 32% urea and 68% water. The urea reacts with the exhaust to make ammonia.

So, if urea freezes at -12*f, and it's 68% water, does that mean this stuff is going to freeze whenever it's about 20* outside??
