I guess Ford doesn't want to be #2 in the power segment. i hope they don't give up MPG for numbers on paper.

My parts catalog says 400 hp. I posted that three weeks ago on another forum then after that they released the 390 # I assumed that they detuned the engine. Bet it was a ploy to get GM to release their #s.

I agree 100%! Im willing to bet that when the trucks get put on the dyno's and in test's that they perform REALLY well.

I know the article mentions the potential for an ECU flash in earlier trucks to get to the new power levels, but what are the chances that the earlier trucks may not be upgradeable? All of us who have already ordered trucks are going to be very unhappy if they ship with the old levels and cannot be upgraded. In fact, if there is even a remote chance, I'll likely cancel my order and just wait.

ON ORDER: 2011 F-450 King Ranch CCLB DRW 4x4 White Platinum/Two-Tone Fully Loaded.

I wouldn't worry too much about it not being upgradable. it's a brand new motor that was intentionally detuned for a number of reasons. I'm fairly certain they took into account that job1 buyers will be pissed if job2's have more power. If the after market can boost power, so can the factory.
