Dodge Steering Column

Anyone know what size and what type the little screw are that holds the two plastic pieces together around the column and the key switch? I had my steering column catch on fire and now I can barely turn the wheel due to all the wires around the clock spring coming apart. I need to get in there and get stuff fixed ASAP. Although I can not see what size/type they are and I need to purchase the tool to be able to get in there because the hole is so small.

Thanks!

It is torex ( star ) #30 I think, to get the shroud off you need a screw driver - insert bits won't fit. Some of the screws are tamper resistant on a teardown. Most of the parts are common with the minivan.

Went by my Uncle's shop this afternoon and he had just what I needed. Turned out to be a #20 torx. Got the cover off and it is not good. Lot's of melted wire and insulation. In a way I wish it would have burnt, I would have stood back and watched. As it is though, the clock spring assembly definitely has to be replaced and we will go from there.

Thanks everyone!

Just grab the parts from a minivan, the ignition switch is usually melted to. Messy but not complicated. Under the dash spread the red butt splices as far as is convenient. The clock spring will usually reach.

Got it fixed today, took about two hours. The clock spring is a dealer only item for the 94-97 trucks and lists for $249. My dealer sold it to me for $199.20 + tax. The clock springs for the 98' up trucks can be had anywhere from $35-$65. I will post pics later of what it looked like when I got it out.
