i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 with the 318. my 'check Engine' Light turns on and off. i dont understand, it came on the code said the rear o2 senser. its been on for a couple days now, and my truck is running fine... the the light turned off and it only comes on once in a while.... whats wrong with it?
Check wires on the rear o2. Being exposed to the elements there could be a bad wire. Or maybe the rear o2 is starting to go bad. If the wires are fine and the check engine bothers you I would have the code cleared unless you want to spend money on a sensor.
Check to make sure you are not getting moisture in the sensor connection. Your 02 sensor could be failing, but I would check the connection first before spending money.
Also I moved this to the General Dodge Section since it does not relate to a Cummins Engine. I have a 24 hr redirect setup as well.
