My never ending search

So in my search for a diesel truck i keep going back and forth from dodge or GM they both seem like great trucks to me and im having a hard time pulling the trigger on one or the other. This will be my first diesel truck and i will mod it up but cant afford to dump 5k+ into it right out of the gate though. Any advice would be great.

p.s. also posting in the GM forums to see what they say.

They are both good trucks and have there pros and cons. The cummins doesn't require def but it likes to be driven hard to keep the dpf from plugging. Bottom line get what you like.
BTW, I am partial to dodge, Have 105,000 miles and have been very happy with it.
