Daully to Single

Is it easy or possible to convert a dually to a single rear wheel truck?

Yes, change the Bed, change the rear axle, change the wheels, change the front hub's. What did I forget? Around here singles sell for less.

West Texas, with the oil field work increasing some of the welders are buying good old truck, usually dually and dropping a welder and tool in the back and going to work. Personally I would prefer a Cab-and-chassie with a welding bed.

If you are looking for a well built 3/4 ton contact Buck2.

I would prefer a one ton but as far as the beds go, what is a good retailer?

First most cab-and-chassie's are 1 ton or larger. But where a dually has a 96 inch wide rear track outside a cab & chassie is 80 inches. But the frame is usually a odd length.

Next if you have a reasonable welding skills just build the bed yourself. If you are in a bigger hurry CM is a common brand. But if you are trying to work as a rig welder and you can not build your own bed, well what kind of advertisement is that? A common remark when you ask how good of a welder is will be " I built this truck".

Gotcha. Well not a welder by trade or in free time. But I have wanted to get one and have one mounted in the bed, so I guess that would be a bad***** place to start
