Looking to buy my first Cummins 12V

I really hate electronics, a lot....so I am looking for the most electronics free diesel engine that is out there.....what are the differences in the amount of electronics between the 1st gen and 2nd gen 12V's?

also, IS the Cummins 12V the way to go for a simple mechanical diesel thats super reliable?

I would rather have less power if that meant less electronics, but naturally I would rather have the most power non-electronic engine that is out there...so should I even look at the older Ford and GM engines since I just want utter reliability, fuel efficency, and mechanical vs. electronic?

thanks for the help fellas!

i know that the first gen 12v has the rotary style pump and has no electronics to it. 2nd gen has the p7100 which is the way to go and has practically no electronics on it either. they both are great motors its just the p7100 is the king of power and reliability. you can expect 20+ mpg's with either one. stay away from the earlier model ford an chevy's there is no comparison to the 12v honestly bud. if it was me 2nd gen all day. i have a 1st gen and i love it too. thet are truly great motors just not great trucks lol...

12valves are very very reliable and will do anything you ask them to do. P-pump wise no electronics at all very simple to modify. If you hate electronics as much as i do. the 12v second gen is the way to go.
