new to dodge

hey guys,
quick quesiton.
so i am thinking about buying a 3500 srw 6 speed manual 4 door long bed cummins and i have a question about the turbo.
would putting a smoke switch on it be a bad thing? i hear they dont hurt anything but then again i hear they blow stuff up. any input would be greatly appreciated. i am just curious. i probably wont do it.
would lugging the engine give PLENTY of smoke?

A bag over the air filter is much easier if all you want to do is make smoke.....

i want to make smoke but i dont want to do the bag method. a bud of mine did it and it sucked into the fan and screwed everything up. he had it zip tied on his airfilter too. i just was wondering if a smoke switch is bad for the motor.
doesnt it just "turn off" the turbo?

Please don't buy the truck just to blow smoke. It makes us as diesel truck enthusiasts look bad plus its terrible for the environment. Build a truck with a lot of power, not to just bellow fuel all over the place. Thank you.
