I just scuffed mine up, then wiped it off with some acetone. I used BBQ paint, because it matched other stuff. So far it has worked great. Easy enough to touch up if it chips.

Krylon makes a plastic paint now that will flex and not crack and peel. I pained the honeycomb center of my grill with this and it has held up fantastic. They have tons of colors. I used Satin black. I just cleaned in up real good with Purple Power cleaner and then dried it with compressed and and painted them. Stock color was a gray:

You're going to have to scuff the crap out of the chrome to get the paint to stick...on the metal anyway. The chrome on the plastic is a bit easier....IMO I would sell your chrome grill and get one from LMC that can be painted.....same with the other parts. Honestly You might make money on the deal selling the good chrome parts.

ok guys i literally just finished painting my grill black.

its already back on but she's still drying a little.

used krylon satin black (second time around).

heres the story: me and my budd redbaronmx decided to tackle this job today and we got the chrome all scuffed and everything degreased and then i put some plastic primer stuff on there and let that tack up, then i tried this can of black that said it was compatible with the primer and it just started to run EVERYWHERE (like mix and make grey) so then i took a rag with the degreaser on it and wiped allll the paint off.

then i got krylon, just like some of you told me to and it stuff PERFECTLY!!!!

gonna take some pics tomorrow when its sunny.

Erik
