new rig questions

Finally saved up enough to pick this truck up on friday. Its a 91 250 with a getrag, 4x4, 170,000 miles for $3,000 bucks. No rust or dents just the normall peeling paint. So now I need to learn about these older trucks so I have a few questions. What are the stock turbo specs, do they make a 4 inch down pipe for that turbo. Now buy looking at my sig, what would it take to get the 91 to run with the 97? Thanks

1997 Dodge 2500 4x4 auto, 4 inch exhaust, airaide intake, 0 plate, boost elbow, 4k gsk, trans, boost, and pyro gauges, built trans with billet converter, 16 cm exhaust housing.
1991 Dodge W250 4x4 manual, 3200 gsk, 4 inch straight piped, advanced timing 1/8", pump turned up all the way.
1997 F-250 Power Stroke-manual trans, 4" exhaust, TS 6 position chip with PHP Tunes, DIY intake, shimmend regulator.

I would say max out the fuel screw, get a Denny fuel pin, intake, exhaust, a diffirent turbine houseing, maybe the 60mm HTT upgrade. Some injectors probubly, the Lucaus PODs are cheap, but they are smoky and dont get the best fuel miliage. I think your biggest speed disadvantage is the fact your rowin your own gears in the older truck IMO. But these trucks can be made plenty quick, Im sure others who know more about these older trucks will chime in

1996 CTD ex cab LB, 5 speed 4x4, LUK clutch, 370"s, fully built and bench flowed pump from TRE Diesel, timing at 17*, airdog 150, aem brute force intake pullin air through a schwitzer 65mm charger, and pushin it out a FBD 5 inch exhaust painted flat black, 6 in. MBRP tip

Waitin for install, ARP studs, 4 GSK, and added timing

My brother's truck is a 92 auto with stock turbo, injectors, a home made fuel pin, 4" exhaust, the pump turned up all the way, and the timing slammed to the head, and it kept up with mine when I had the stock injectors.

Source Automotive sells a full 4" Diamond Eye kit for these trucks. Ad the HTT 60mm upgrade is a must.

The stock turbo I believe is a 54mm inducer just like an HX 35, and as an 18.5 cm non-w/g housing. It will make 35+ lbs of boost on a stock turbo no problem, just don't chirp them as I have heard that they are prone to shaft breakage.

1992 W250-P-pump and some extra air, gone, but not forgotten.

What about a GSK? Every one seems to be using the 3200 rpm. Do they not make a 4k for this pump. Also what about advancing the timing on this pump? Sorry for so many questions but i no pretty much nothing about the pump on this truck and if I dont ask I wont know. Thanks guys.

The only one I know of is the 3200 spring. And timing on these trucks is easy. You just loosen the three bolts that hold the pump on the timing cover, and the one on the rear bracket and slam it towards the head. I don't recommending moving it more than an 1/8th of an inch if you tow though.

What happens if you move it more than 1/8 inch and tow?

It is hard on the head gasket. Also, many have argued that although you see less EGTs on the gauge, that it keeps a lot more heat in the cylinder that you don't see, which when towing could burn up a motor.

Big red I noticed in your sig you have a f-150 seat and the led dash lights. Whats the chances you could post some picks of those. I definetley want to get a diffrent seat.
