Anyone take a VE apart?

I was curious as to how far the timing advance goes, and if anyone has pix of one apart. I was thinking about opening one up to mod the total timing.

There is a good teardown and rebuild of a VE pump with a VW 4 as the victim, it has a fair discriptive of what most of the parts do. The gasket kit from a VW diesel Rabbit is supposed to fit - for $15!
