New to the site so I have a few ?'s

Iam new to the site and just want to say hi to start off with. Now then, Iam looking at a 91 3/4 ton, straight stick, cummins. Is there any draw backs to the truck other than that there is little to no mods to be put on the truck. I want something that can be used as a daily driver but still can **** and get when needed. The truck is priced at 4500 and there is a parts truck to go with it for an extra 500. It has a new clutch and some what major cab rust so the parts truck would be needed, Iam not sure about the miles I have not called the guy about it yet I have just looked. So like I said I need your help on to buy it or not. Thanks

Truck: 1990 Ford F-250 5.0 EFI, 4x4 , Longbed, 5 speed w/ Hurst shifter, K&N FIPK, Line-X Bed liner, Ford Racing Valve Covers, 2 1/2 in exhaust w/ 4 inch SS tips, A pillar pod filled with Autometer Pro Comp Ultra Lites , Custom switch box w/ 5 switch panel, and more to come

First off2: , second there is a lot to be done as far as power for these motors. I don't know that much about them, but there are a few with over 300hp, I believe there is someone that made over 600hp:smoke: . Turbos, injectors, timing, fuel adjustments, the list goes on. The guys in the know will chime in and give you more details:Thumbup: . See ya:

Is it intercooled? Don't worry about the power issue, you will have help in that aspect, and Welcome to the Diesel Garage.:smoke: :smoke:

The truck its self is not in that bad of shape execpt the passenger side roof line were the drip rail is, and a little bit of rust in the drivers side front most part of the bed,and it has been used as a farm truck. I still have not called the guy but the truck is still for sale. Is the truck worth the 4400 for both that I was thinking about offering him or should I offer less since the rust and the fact that it is a 91 , and Iam sure that it has more miles on it that what the odometer says is on it plus the KBB on it in great shape is only 2500 or so. So once again I turn to you guys for help.

Has he given you the mileage yet? If the guy took pretty good care of it and had it serviced, I wonder if you could get a carfax done on it to tell the real mileage:shrug: . If it drives well and the parts truck has some good stuff on it go for it. I bet if there are good parts that you don't need on the parts truck you could sell some of it and you could recoup some of your cost. KBB or not, it is only worth what you are willing to pay for it. See ya:

Ya if mileage and maintance are good jump on it. If you can fix all the rust yourslef I dont see a big problem with that. Good thing about 1st gens is there is a good amount of frre mods you can do to add power. Bad think with the 91 its not intercooled. So if you plan on doing more than a few mods get guages to keep EGT's in check. Turn up the pump, put on a 16cm eaust housing, P.O.D.'s and you'll run with some of the Big boys. Look up Stomp he runs over 600 Hp on his set up. Good luck with the truck!
