Question Bill99

Hello Everyone

I have a 1992 Dodge Ram250 LE with the Cummins and auto trans 88,000 on the O.D 2W/Dr

My question is this, Did this year truck come with the O.D 518 and lockup torque converter as I thought I read on one of the postings some time ago that Lock-up torque converters were installed on later models.

I had the trans flushed, bands ajusted and the heavy duty trans cooler lines revamped and the owner said it was a newer model trans with lock-up converter and I was just under the truck and it dose have a three wire connecter in the trans but I can not feel the converter lock-up ever, I do feel 2end 3erd and O.D shifts but not the lock up as I can on any other truck with lock-up converters

If it has the three wire connector on the trans. It should be lockup converter. If your looking at the right plug. The OD plug is facing upward just in front of the rear cooler line on the trans. It is not the three wire plug that goes in down by the oil pan on the trans.

The 518's used in the 91.5 to 93 models were nonlockup converters from the factory.

93 W350 w/duals, fuel pin turned, 6X.018" injectors, 4" exhaust, 3" air intake horn, HX40/16, G56 /SBC Con-OFE, 307's axles' 2" skyjacker lift, B&W flatbed
