turbo housing

I'm looking at putting the 16cm turbo housing from piers on my new 90' cummins. I'm wondering if the outlit for the turbo is the same size at the factory outlit? Also i was wondering if it would actually help (ill be turning the fuel way up, and putting on some prince of darkness injectors).????

The outlets will be the same size, remember to get an oil return gasket, and a manifold gasket if you pull the turbo. The POD's will be a nice shot in the shorts, also look at the tech page, there are some good tips on advancing the fueling, Good Luck.:smoke: :smoke:

Yep, a 16 is a direct bolt on, no changes need to be made to exhaust. Be aware, the old housing may need some 'persuasion' to come off. Figure 10 min. of smacking the old housing with a decent sized hammer until it comes flying off. A 16 is about the most universal size you can get, it'll have real good spoolup with the POD's.

A 16 is about the best compromise when you're using POD's. It'll be spinning pretty fast with those. Anything better?...another turbo would be. You can also get a stage3 kit from HTT that gives you an HX40 compressor side & impeller, and is also quite affordable. It's easiest to send in your turbo for the machining if you dont want to mess around with disassembly of the whole turbo. There's a tech article I wrote that shows the install of a stage3 kit on my HX35(only a compressor housing difference).
