A little help please! Turbo Problem....maybe?

Please take a look at my sig for any info needed, I'm only pulling about 25lbs of boost at wot with the quad on level 3. The comp wheel of my turbo looks like it has been dipped in used oil and today I noticed a big crack on on the top of the exhaust manifold.

P.S. The crack hasn't been there near as long as I have had the low boost prob and oil coming through the turbo.

Please help, Thanks, Eric

How much psi did you usually push before this problem? Also have you checked to see if the wheel has any play in it? The crack kinda worries me and could definitely be the culprit, how hott have you been running, that may be the first problem right there.

I haven't seen anything over 1500* since I put the hx40 on and that was almost 2 years ago. There is very little if any play in the turbo, it was a brand new rebuild when I installed it. The crack just appeared recently, I know this sounds bad but I have never really paid attention to the boost gauge when I'm hard on the throttle (my attention is usually on the pyro) BUT now that I have been paying more attention to the boost gauge it just seems really low. With the stock turbo I could hit 40 psi whenever I wanted.

Thanks for responding!

Yea I would definitely take a look into getting a new manifold. If the crack has exhaust coming from it your going to loose power no matter what. As far as the egts, 1500 is way too high for my liking. I would only recommend that in burst for a second or two, the highest Ill let mine go is 1250 anywhere past that you are going to be asking for a new head here soon.

Check your boots and see if you have any leaks, I know I recently had to replace my drivers side bottom boot, Also you intake manifold gasket and the gaskets on the intake horn.

You can go and try to find a stock one in a junk yard that would probably be the cheapest route but what I would do is either go for an ats pr a bd mainfold.

Just look around Im sure youll find what your looking for.

What kind of filters do you use? If you using oiled filters it may be from those.

2 K&N's but I don't oil them very much at all, even when I put new ones on I clean them first because from the factory they come soaked. I just don't understand why there is so much oil inside my turbo.

If you can try to post a pic. I know I ran k&n for a while and honestly for a gas engine they might produce some good filters but as for diesels not so much. How much oil are we talking about?
