Im still running my stock hx35 but its starting to get tired and my temps are around 1150 max when towing up a grade and was curious as to what would be a good replacement for it. Im 70% no laod 30% towing with the truck.

if you are only pulling 1150 up a grade then an S300G would be a good little upgrade. super B, same thing. heck, even just a compressor upgrade and drill out the wastegate would be good.

Drilling the wastegate is free, The only thing you gotta do is take off the turbo and loosen the 6bolts and hold back the flap and drill thru. and the compresser wheel maybe 100 and some. but im not sure on that.

The pdr hotrod 40 has a really punchy power band. It lags a bit, then comes on hard and fast in my experience. The large exhaust housing doesn't help unless you have the fuel to spool it. A super fat shaft is a variation of the s300, but even those, as small as a 62, will still lag quite a bit.

Honestly, if you are only turning 1150deg. at the manifold, anything other than a stocker, he351, 35/40 hybrid, or 57mm s300, probably won't spool fast enough for you, and isn't going to gain you anything. That is, unless you plan on adding more fuel down the road.

S300G would probably be perfect unless you have bigger plans.

if you could get an ETT60/65/12, that would be the ultimate basic HP, quick spool turbo.
