edge juice and straight pipe +low fuel psi =no smoke?

Ok so I know that diesels can smoke and how they work and I dont do it to piss off people or to waste diesel fuel, I just want to smoke every now and then but I have a 99 24v with a built automatic trans.

I have edge juice with attitude on level 5, straight pipe, silencer ring removed(which does nothing but make it louder, i know and i love it) but when I mash down on the pedal taking off or just rolling down the highway to pass i have no smoke. I do however notice that my Fuel psi is dropping to around 3psi at WOT and I noticed it and dont mash the pedal anymore and have since ordered and Airdog pump. Am I not getting any smoke bcause i dont have enough fuel to make the correct hp and to smoke? I will be installing the airdog tuesday or wednseday so that will hopefully fix the fuel psi problem.. the vp44 pump was rebuilt at 88,000 miles and the truck has 155,000 on it.

Please let me know whats going on.. Thanks

If your getting 3psi at WOT, i'd say your lift pump and injection pump are dead (no good) Who rebuild that pump for you?

Diesel injection a local shop it was done it 06 at 88k miles and its clocking 156k miles now.

do you have your prefuel settings turned up on the juice? and yes you need fuel to make smoke.

01 quad cab 4x4, edge drag comp, 4" exhaust, fass 150, 250 ddps, Jefferson State compounds 683hp so vp 11.91. AMSOIL front to rear. now back to stock 95 fummins in the works

And also when you start your truck up, do you let it sit for a few seconds or do you just take off when started up?

id say your lift pump is definatly done. air dog is a good choice hopefully you cought it before you killed the VP they love there fuel pressure. On a side note like 97cummins asked do you warm it up before u drive it that is rather important on the 99s cause of the 53 blocks i unfortunatly found that out the hard way no i let it get to 140 before i move it.

well I looked on my block and nowhere does it say 53.. and i dont let it warm up very much.. maybe 2 minutes..

My guess is, that the edge worked the lift pump too hard and fried it and is slowly working the injection pump. How do you have your fuel system set up? Like a snubber at the pump and the sending unit screwed in the snubber?

Check the low end settings on the juice, Also 3psi is not enough to do much with and I would not be surprised if the VP is going to go soon. Also is the VP wire tapped for the Edge that will make a difference too

Do you leave it on level 5 all the time? Also did you put everything on yourself such as the edge and the programmer and etc.? And one more question, is there an white smoke or a dead pedal?
