Cracked dash replacement

Has anyone ever done a writeup on a cracked dash replacemant for a 02 2500. It may have been done before but I haven't seen it anywhere, and I know I am not the only one with this problem. The questions I have are about the passenger side airbag, the steering column, and anything else that may or may not have to be removed. If anyone has done this I would appreciate your advice.

Unscrew the screws holding the dash top to the rest of the dash, and at the base of the windshield. Drop the steering column, 2 bolts under the dash. Then loosen the 2 bolts 1 on each side holding the Dash up to the cab and roll the dash down. And now you can remove the dash top from the rest of the dash. Its kind of a pain getting everything in and out though, so be warned, and expect about a 6hr job.

I had this problem with my 01 ram. I took the dash completly apart to find that I couldn't change it out without removing the entire dash from the fire-wall. There are two screws per vent that attach the defrost vents to the top peice of the dash. They are screwed in from the back. If you get your dash that far apart you will see what I mean. I ended up just buying a custom carpet dash cover from coverking to hide the crack.

Thanks for the replies guys. My dash is to far gone for covering up, it has a hole in it big enough to swallow a softball, so I am going to attempt this pretty soon. If I figure out an easy way to do I will let you know, but it sounds like it going to be a pain to say the least.
