2 Questions: 1). snow plowing? 2). Mods to the 24 valve.

Hey whats happening.

ive got a 99 cummy, and was thinking about putting a plow on it.

are these good plowing trucks?? any one here plow with one??

and i was wondering, im thinking about cutting some holes in my air box and putting a Afe DROP in filter, a 4inch turbo exhaust, and an edge mileage max chip.

-think thats a pretty good set up? i just want more mpg and a little more kick!

My 24v started its life as a plow. But I have no experience using them as a plow, it doesn't snow where I live. I know they are pretty common to use though.

As for the exhaust, intake, and mileage max. That will definitely help out a bit, but it is by no means giant gains.

I have plower snow with my truck. It came with an 8ft fisher minute mount. my truck is a 2001 2500 automatic 4x4. I have plowed with it stock and with just the smarty on. Either way thease engines love the work you throw at them. The low end torque of the cummins really show. doesn't take much to push heavy snow. I love plowing with it. make sure your front tires are at the max psi recomended on the door sticker, it should be 80. if your front tires are only like 60 you will have a hard time steering from a dead stop. that heavy engine plus the plow is a lot of strain on the power steering system.
