#1- remove intake tubing from turbo mouth
#2- Stuff rag in turbo
#3- start truck
#4- watch smoke ensue

Smoke switches are asinine and only hurt our sport and diesels reputation in general

tell him if he wants smoke that he need BIG injectors, and lots of fuel

Or you could just wrap the intake with a trash bag...

2 ways to make it smoke; Add fuel, or take away air.

Programmer would be the easiest way to do it.

I know the OP has a serious question and probably wants an answer, but I have to ask... WHY?

2/3's of the reason Diesel is unpopular in the US and costs so much (low refining capacity) is the perception that it's dirty and pollutes the environment..

We all know that even pre-2007, Diesels were in many ways cleaner and certainly more efficient than gassers and these 2011's are truly cleaner burning than gassers in all but one or two of over a dozen monitored emissions... yet people insist on spending money to make their diesels MORE unfriendly to the environment, and more importantly, to other drivers... I don't know about you, but I hate getting behind someguy with a riced up truck and he gets on the freeway and leaves a James Bond smoke screen behind him for my A/C to suck in... If you want power, that's fine... and if more power means a bit more smoke, that's fine too... but to just want the G'Damn smoke??? WHY?

Reminds me of talking to an old captain I flew with recently who said he missed how the old 727's and 707's used to leave a smoke trail behind them so you can see their flight path better... To which I reminded him that when those were flying around in the 60's and 70's (and part of the 80's).. there was no full radar coverage and keeping an eye on traffic was more critical.. but today, there is full radar coverage and it's nearly impossible to run into another plane.. so why?

small chip and intake and exhaust small easy mods make good power and reliable! if ya dont know anything about diesels have him read up on them i had a friend who wanted it to smoke and he had me put an edge juice on it oh it smoked alright........smoked everything on his truck lmao...clutch,injection pump,cam.....he didnt check his oil hahaha. but edge is good i swear by it just that you have other things you have to upgrade to hold it or you will find out quick that everything else will fail in short time

i agree with you guys, its one thing to build power and get some smoke but to try just for smoke is rediculous! That is the kind of person that will end up ruining everything for us! If us guys that do have smoke aint responsible with it we're gonna end up making it completly illegal to have any smoke and we'll all have to start detuning to eliminate it, or park our trucks cause they'll be illegal to drive.

so for you goof balls that thinks its fun to make the road behind you dissapear keep this in mind.

I sound like a grumpy old man, i do think belching a little smoke is cool but we all need to keep that to a minimum before our trucks forcibly become yard ornaments!
