Cost per mile really high on the GV.

The 4500 and 5600 trannys have the same (or close) O/D ratio, so no gains there.

the 6sd has closer ratios in the gear set OD is about the same, If you are hauling in the hills (I do) the 6 speed (NV5600) will make a big differnce.

If you are looking for fuel mileage run higher gears. I have a 98 12 valve with a 5 speed and 3.55 2wd it will gear 22-24 mpg when it try. That means traveling 60-65 with no trailer, run 75mph and it gets like 17-18mpg.

they do make 3.42 and 3.21 gear set also.

What kind of mileage do you get right now? What size tires are you running? been thinking about some 33 or 35" rubber on my '99. Have 4.10s in mine and get low 16s on a long trip. 12's loaded up and rolling.

I haven't calculated what mileage I get right now. I have 35x12.5 on stock wheels. Next is a programer looking at banks or a smarty jr what do you think is the best bang for the buck in a economy tune??

no banks. would say get and edge ez if your looking for low hp gains, or a edge comp and some gauges. well most important question is what lift pump is on this truck.

that freespin kit gave my buddy almost a 2 mpg jump don't remember how much it cost not sure on the older 24valve trucks but wouldn't a smarty on them be a little better than edge in the mileage department i don't know not that experienced with the older 24 valves just 12's and common rails

04 Dodge 4x4 crew cab 6sp valair kevlar/ceramic clutch stage 1 industrial injectors superphat shaft 62 turbo hot juice with attitude ats arc flow 5in exhaust isspro ev2 gauges and 150 airdog soon to come studs intercooler not sure after that
01 ex cab powerstroke 4x4 diablo programmer autometer gauges str8t pipe and i think the oil pump is dead b/c it wont start and im getting fuel
