A Drag Comp box is a Regular Edge Comp box with a Hot unlock code.. The Hot unlock code will allow you to fuel to 3200 RPMs where as the regular box fuels to 2700 rpm..

You can always go with a Comp box and then when you think you have everything buttoned down and feel you need to fuel to 3200 RPM send it into Edge and they will unlock for a fee..

It is a good box, but I have always been more Partial to a TST PowerMax for the 2nd Gens

A smarty is also an option on these trucks, however I do not have any experiance with a Smarty on a 2nd Gen just a 3rd Gen and it is awesome

Your you could go with the edge juice w/attitude, it comes with gauges on screen. Not sure if comps have a screen for gauges? I have seen some used edge juices for sale on ebay and craiglists for $100-200. New there around $700.
not sure if that helps?

Drag comps have a different fueling table than a juice with hot unlock. and will make more power and better passes every time. IMO the drag comp is still the best box for a vp truck. The smarty is not so hot on vp trucks for the record. It fuels hard asnd changes torque managment settings but that is about it. they are fun to drive but dont make much power. Smarty on a CR however is hands down pretty much the most awesome thing in the world of diesels. Dont need any other tuning to get crazy numbers, just bigger sticks and cp3's.
