24 valve pulling truck.

What all would it take to make a competive 24 valve puller. What size injectors and turbos? Head steads are a definate. Fire ringing and O Ringing? Port and Polishing? Any and all input will be apreciated.

First thing to do is to find a pulling club in your area. You will need their rules for what class you want to run. 2.6 was an entry class but some have 2.5 (basically a work/stock class) They will have rules to has what turbo you can run, if you can run a 3.0 turbo with a inducer bushing or if it has to be a 2.6 turbo. then injectors, cam, valve springs, supporting mods, drive train saftey loops depend on club rules. you will want traction bars. Depending on how far you want to go you can p-pump it, but once again this is a big undertaking.

Lots of money and lots of patience! If you look at my sig. there's about $10,000 and I still was far from finished. Needed to get a set of twins, fire ring the head and install a stud kit, and finish the transmission. Probably about another $5000-7000.

who are you going to pull with in KY? KOTTPA? NKTPA? BOB? What class WS or 2.6?

WS you're going to need a CR Turbo for sure, sticks, electronics, a way to get it down and you're stiill not going to keep up with the CR trucks....

2.6 go with a custom charger, big sticks, P PUMP it, and go from there...

you're just not going to be able to keep up with a VP and its going to drain a lot of $$$$

um its going to be really expencive. i work with 3 pulling trucks from the ttpa. it all depends on the rules about trubo size. head studing is a yes, o ring is a yes. latter bars are good. try to get a club cab long box and put duals on it. a truck like that pulls really good. if possible make a hood stack, the least exsaust resestance is reallly good. injectors can usaully be as big as you want them. drive shaft loops and trans harness are usaully required. a triple disk clutch from south bend is somthing you will want. a diffrent water cooling system is somthing you want. if you can bore you motor and make it a full roller motor that would be the best. you can push a lot more rpms. p pumping is a yes! if you can get a full billet trans that would help you be on the save side... manual or auto. it will save you from breaking. a weight box or hanging weights in the front only will help a ton. it all depends on how big you want to build your truck. value cover vents are a yes! and of cousre an awsome paint job.. adds power hahaha im kiding!

Not trying too disagree with anyone but up here in Michigan a lot of the pulls are open pull or run what you brung. Only requirements are fire extinguisher, helmet, seatbelts and no riders. Don't have too me a member of a club either, and they just go by weight of truck for what class your in, add weights and you can be in a higher class. I do agree with you if your going for competition, just depends if your doing this for fun or not.

what? um depends on what your in. ttpa has a lot of freakin rules. all of the michigan points pulls you have to have fire suits and your trucks are regulated so much. the run what you brung class is the street class. the super street and out law classes have a tone of rules.

Yes I agree if your running out law, but all the pulls I have been too they weren't ttpa.
I have seen street trucks (daily drivers) pushin over 800 horses, at some of these pulls.
They weren't in fire retardant clothing, they didn't have drive shaft hoops or turbo cut offs, etc. Down in Camden MI they have pulls (diesel days) every spring any one with a diesel can try for a pull. Litchfield has also had pulls occasionally.
