Tuner Suggestion

I would suggest the Smarty Tuners. They allow you more function then just picking a power level. In this case it would be the Smarty S-03 for your truck. It is the same tuner I have for mine and I Love it. I will say the only downfall is there is no way to shift on the fly and you dont get gauges out of it like you would with an EDGE tuner, (but really you should put gauges on your truck. boost, egt, transtemp, and I highly suggest fuel pressure so you dont run your VP44 dry using the stock lift pump). You have to pick your settings and flash your ecu before you start the truck and take off down the road. As soon as you get it you can hook it up to your computer and download the REVO software. I will say this I average 22mpg on the fuel saver setting.

Here is the weblink and I pasted the details about REVO below that.

Smarty S03

Today, this becomes reality!
When you enter the “ECM update“ menu on Smarty you will find a newly added chapter:
"Adjust Options“.
Once entered, this menu allows you to choose among several items and levels of customization.

The items are :
Speed-limiter
Torque Management levels
Injection timing
Injection duration

The levels are :
Speed-limiter
From 25 to 250 mph in one mile increments

Torque Management
# 0 - Default
# 1 - Stock
# 2 - Mild
# 3
# 4 Moderate
# 5
# 6 - Wild ( aftermarket clutch / AT Transmission recommended )

Injection Timing
# 0 - Default
# 1 - Stock
# 2 - for stock injectors
# 3 - for aftermarket Injectors
# 4 - for fuel economy

Injection duration
# 0 - Default
# 1 - Stock
# 2 - Mild
# 3
# 4
# 5 - Long

The above descriptions are for the REVO standard software.

My first and foremost advice would be to get a fuel system of some sort be it FASS or Pureflow AirDog with a good quality fuel pressure gauge. When I had my 01 24V I lost a Lift pump and VP within 2 months of ownership..

Once you get a good fuel system that will maintain what the VP needs stock then start planning for horsepower.

The guy who i bought the truck from said it had a "monster" vp44 pump. Any advice about those? Are you talking about upgrading my injection or lift pump?

he is talking about your lift pump. the monster pump is a waste of your time. I like the edge comp hot aka edge drag comp. blows the smarty out of the water. also get a full set of gauges pyro boost and fuel pressure if auto get a trans temp gauge. stay away from glow shift.

01 quad cab 4x4, edge drag comp, 4" exhaust, fass 150, 250 ddps, Jefferson State compounds 683hp so vp 11.91. AMSOIL front to rear. now back to stock 95 fummins in the works

I was referring to lift pump.

The VP is very dependent on having the correct fuel pressure. Once you get the supporting mods down, IE Gauges and a good lift pump, Smarty and the Edge Comp are both good choices.

I have a guage pod now with boost, pyro, and trans temp and a seperate guage for fuel pressure. I need to get the trans, pyro and FP working. I tryed getting the fuel pressure working yesterday but for some reason i can't get it to, its a auto meter sending unit with red, black and yellow wires coming from it and i cant get a signal to the guage?

since you already have gauges it just costs more and is supposed to be the same tuning as a comp but to me the comp fuels harder
