Welcome to the Garage. Tell us what your plans are for the truck, daily driver, race, towing, sled pulling, etc... that will help us give you a better guidance on what to do. Also fill out your sig so we can see if your truck is an auto or manual and a 2wd or 4x4. take a look at my sig and you will get the idea.

First what is your budget? Next what are the rules at the pulls?

I have had Edge Comp and Drag boxes but I would like to try a Red line.

Really need to know how much you want to spend, building the engine is just part of it, you will need traction bars and a clutch or Torque Convert some transmission parts (cooler, ect.) Tires you can see the budget will tell you what you can do?

Money just depends I plan on buying stuff and adding little buy little maybe allow 250.00 month for this build it pulls great now I just want add some hp but I understand that if I add to much I need clutch and bigger turbo but I like to keep it down to were I could pull a 800 mile round trip to a race !
I was thinking of a hx40 turbo 150 hp inj and a programer That sound good ?
Or can I up grade my hx35 ?
Thanks for the help !

A HX40 is a well upgraded HX35.

Save your money and do more at one time. Get a plan on where you want to be and not be trading part, they get expensive and time consuming.

To get a 24V to 300 hp is easy.
Your HX35 will support that and it will be a welcome power improvement.

Get a better air filter.
Get a 4inch turbo back exhaust
Get some 100 hp sticks any more will be hot and smokey.
Do what you need to make 32-35 psi of boost, anymore is just a waste with a HX35.
Your choise of boxes.

That should get you close if not a little more. If you are currently stock then you should be making 180 hp to the wheels now.

Don't get crazy until you have all the right parts. If you want a monster pump, then a box will not make much difference.

Form a plan so you are not changing turbos and injectors every week and wasting money, unless you just have more than you need.

Driving any vehicle to a race and racing it and expecting it to get you home is a bad idea. About 35 years ago my brother did that and broke a axle, needless to say I had to find a trailer and make a haul. It is great to have a daily driver but you will need a back up plan just in case something breaks, like a transmission input shaft.
