input on htb2

I have been looking around for a new turbo and I am really intested in the htb2. I like how you can upgrade compressor and housing as you grow. I am just not what one would be best for me. My truck will not have the same set-up as it does now, looking at some Mach 3 or 4's, and I will have my new TC and VB in by this time. Does anyone have any input on the htb2 (street stock), killer b-2, or the sled puller 66?

An HTT 64/14 would probably be a very good choice for you. You can always have it upgraded to a Sledpuller 66 or a Pro Street 66. I personally know of one 24v running 500+ hp on a non-wastegated 64/14.

yeah, the B2 is supposed to be sweet. I'd think if you were running mach 4's the 66 would be a decent choice, however it may still be a bit laggy. You could probably get away with mach 5's and an sp66 if the truck is just being used for street rodding and racing. I've probably made myself clear enough on the subject in the past, but I don't like big injectors and singles if you're getting near a load. But for all other purposes, its probably the best bet.

ya I would be doing very minimal towing if any at all. I also am looking into upgrading my intercooler since itll get hot with this bigger single

The HTB2 62/14 works great. My brother's truck put down 545 with his. Now that the new High Tech Series turbos are out I would look at them. Some have seen up to a 200 degree change in egts vs the standard HTB series turbos. Like sstockton said I would stay away from the 66 turbos especially on a 24v. I would look at a Quick Diesel 64, if you can afford it. I think it would do all you ever wanted on the street, plus some.
As far as the intercooler goes, I wouldn't wast the money on a 2nd gen truck. The $$$ vs results factor isn't in you favor. Most guys only upgrade when they need the intercooler to hold the 100+lbs of boost they are ramming through it. Put your money somewhere else. Plus with the 24v you can always turn it down with the comp when you tow to keep the egts down.

thats impressive 545 with a 62/14, I bet that thing spools really fast too. The hightech series is supposed to be engineered really well, and for the price and simplicity to install, since you aren't towing thats gonna be your best bet.
the 62/14 is probably a good place to start.
