I am ssuming you have a 24v since you posted in this forum? Do you have a standard output or high output? I think the standard was around 235 and the HO was around 250. I don't think those are correct, but in the ballpark. Someone will chime in here with the exact numbers.

Also please take a few minutes and fill out your signature, that way in the future we can better help you by knowing what you have.

Yeah the rating really varies from year to year and depending on whether you have a stick or an auto. You can look on your engine data plate on the drivers side of the timing case and that will tell you hp and the Rpm that rating is obtained at.

My 2000 2500 auto is rated at 215hp @ 2700 rpm which roughly calculates to 420ft.lbs of torque.

98-00 autos should be close to that number, manuals should be roughly 225hp.
01-02 auto (S.O.) is roughly 225hp
01-02 5spd (S.O.) is roughly 235hp
01-02 6spd (H.O.) is roughly 245hp

The HO pumps have different electronics(timing) and smaller plungers than the SO pumps 7mm vs 7.5mm. The HO pumps also run higher fuel pressure, but they use smaller injectors. You could get a SO truck with a six speed from 1999 to 2000. The NV4500 and SO NV5600's have a 1 1/4" input shaft, the later NV5600's have a 1 3/8" input shaft.

to add to what smokem said, the S.O. motor runs 16.4:1 compression ratio and the H.O. runs 17.0:1.
