ford guy needs info

I have a buddy with a 01 dodge. He has everything that banks offers for it. He bought it that way used. From what i understand it is only a 70hp box. My question is, will a old style Quadzilla xzillaraider box stack with it? If not what is the best to put with it. He doesn't want to get rid of the ottomind because his guages are tied into it or so he says. I really haven't had a chance to go through the truck. He is supposed to bring it to me tommorrow to look at. Any help would be appreciated.

Well i'm pretty sure that most of the Banks stuff does timing if the Quad doesn't to timing then you probably could stack it.

Yeah, banks really tends to lean towards getting power other ways than dumping fuel into the motor. The problem is, most fueling boxes also add timing, like the edge and the TST and I believe the quadzilla too. The Redline sure doesn't though, but thats a really really hot box and not a great idea on the street. What about adding some injectors those will give him more fuel without ditching the ottomind.

If he really wants to play with his truck, That ottomind will have to go.

Thats what i thought on banks. I'm trying to get him to get rid of the ottomind and get a smarty. Or would the two of those work together since you can choose tunes with or without timing?

The smarty would work with the banks. However, the smarty isn't even what you really call a fueling box. It changes the ECM but it doesn't open up the fuel solenoid in the pump any more. Other boxes tap into the fuel solenoid control wire giving it more juice, which in turn, holds it further open longer and more fuel passes through the pump and into the motor.

The guages on the banks stuff are tied into the ottomind. I know that from experiece with banks products, and a little advice for you buddy tell him to get rid of the banks as soon as possible it's junk. He can keep the exhaust and intake pluem and turbo housing if he wants to keep it reasonable stock. If you wan't to go big though most of that stuff will go quickly.

01 Qc Cummins 4x4 long box, edge attitude with juice (HOT!!), 4" exhaust, afe stage 2 intake, HTB2 62/12, banks intake pleum, bully dog big fuel kit, stage three jammers, southbend 3250 DD, BD Blow off valve. PDR master and slave cylinder upgrade. Sold

2006 mega cab 4x4 auto. Stock for now.

I don't know a thing about Banks products but I can tell you a TST PowerMax box does not do timing. It is a stand alone fueling box. There is another FMS box that does fueling too besides the Redline but I can't recal the name of that one?

If it where me I'd ditch the Banks (try selling it on Ebay) and buy some real gauges and go from there.

Also make sure to give the fuel pressure on that truck a check too. The lift pump supplies the life blood to the injection pump and if it is dead or dying the IP won't be far behind.

The Bluechip was what I couldn't think of.

Not sure why but I can never remember that name.
