Any help with codes guys?

The other day out of curiosity I turned my key 3 times and checked my codes. I got 0500 and 1693 I went to AZ and they were something about the tach and the speed sensor or something. Anybody ever had these codes? Also if you have are they A big deal? Or is it just something minor I should replace? OR what any comments/ help appreciated

It would probably be helpful if you could post your truck information; Make, Model, Engine and Mods if any would make answering your question MUCH easier.

No real worries there. P0500 is no vehical speed sensor signal, and P1693 is a companion code Detected Trouble Code DTC in either ECM or PCM. Do you have an anti defueler or top speed eliminator? Those will throw those codes for sure. If not, then you probably had a little slip up in communication between the ECM and PCM also could be caused by an old and tired VSS or something in that system.

I wouldn't rush out and replace stuff. I would try clearing them and see if they come back, If you keep having issues, I would see if you can get your speed sensor tested. My friends truck used to eat output speed sensors for some reason, Well, it ate 2 in maybe 18 months anyways it could be something like that, they only cost about 25 bucks so they aren't too expensive. He would have shifting issues though, like 1st and 3rd would just go away. So I don't think you have anything to worry about.
