01 Cummins chip/programmer suggestions

As you guys can see im a ford guy, so dont shoot me please!!!! I have a friend who has an 01 Cummins who is considering a chip or programmer. I know on the Ford side of the house, we recommend chips over programmers. What chips or programmers do you guys recommend for your 5.9s???? I have recommended he get gauges to go along with the chips/programmers, he already has a 4" exhaust, not sure of intake tho. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

He really wants something just for /light/heavy towing. He is an older guy, so he isnt wanting anything too powerful. Where can i find the PPE/Smarty products?

I would go with a Juice with attitude. I've heard bad things about PPE's boxes for the older 24Vs. If he dont want alot he could do a Smarty and guages but he will have more then what you can get a Juice for.

I would also go with the juice attitude for the gauges and you can change your settings anytime. With the smarty you cant do that.

Just a FYI, Cummins does not use chips only fueling/timing boxes and programmers.

That being said and since he does not already have gauges I would recommend getting a Edge Juice w/Attitude. That way the gauges are built in and he can a lot of settings including defueling and alarms to come on at pre-set levels.
